Oral BPC-157 alongside injectable for tendon recovery, overkill or worth it?

Been dealing with this achilles thing for a while now, did a round of injectable BPC-157 a few months back and it helped, anecdotally felt like the stiffness dialed down maybe 40 percent but it never fully resolved. Now I'm wondering if adding oral BPC-157 on top of the injectable would do anything extra, or if it's kinda redundant since it's the same compound just different delivery.
The oral formulation from what I understand is supposed to have more of a gut and organ healing angle, the arginate salt keeps it stable through stomach acid, but does any of that systemic anti-inflammatory effect actually reach a tendon? Or am I just gonna be paying double for the same downstream mechanism, upregulating VEGF and all that, through two different routes. Anecdotally I've heard guys say the oral hits different, more of a whole-body calm feeling, but I can't tell if that's real or just people wanting it to be real.
Has anyone here run both at the same time, and did you notice anything beyond just the injectable alone? Also curious about timing, like does oral in the morning and injectable at night make any difference, or is that just me overthinking it.

- retired_coldplunge: The achilles is a slow one, for sure. I had a similar thing with mine a couple winters back, took the usual round of injectable and it helped but did not finish the job. What ended up moving the needle for me was dropping running for a bit and slowing down the return, not throwing more compound at it. Fwiw, when I added oral during a second round it did seem to take the edge off general stiffness, kind of a whole-body thing, but honestly hard to say if that was reaching the tendon or just my gu
- omar653: Yeah the loading ramp back is probably where I dropped the ball, I went straight back to heavy calf raises after the first round and it just kept nagging. Curious how long you dropped running for, like weeks or months? And did you ever get imaging on it or just played it by feel, anecdotally mine felt like partial insertional stuff but I never got it formally checked out.
- nomad_brandon: Yeah the slow return thing is underrated, i think a lot of us want to shortcut the rehab timeline and just keep piling stuff on. For what it is worth my elbow was the same way, injectable alone got me like halfway and i kept expecting the next round to finish it but it didnt until i actually backed off the volume for a few weeks. The oral alongside injectable did seem to soften things up for me too but same thing you said, could just be a calmer gut or less systemic inflammation, hard to pin dow
- omar653: Yeah that tracks, the backing off part is what got me thinking about adding the oral in the first place since I wasn't really willing to deload my training again, I wanna keep pushing. So if the oral is doing more of a systemic calming thing that's fine, but I'm not convinced it's actually doing anything extra at the achilles itself, anecdotally I keep going back and forth on whether to just save the money.
