"RU-58841 scalp dryness after a few weeks, anyone else?"

Hi, been using topical RU-58841 daily for around 3 weeks now, around 50mg in 1mL. Hairline area specifically has gotten pretty dry and flaky, almost like mild dandruff but it doesn't really itch. I'm not seeing irritation per se, just dry skin that looks kinda white at the roots.
I'm not trying to quit it yet bc tbh i've noticed less shedding already which feels like a good sign, but the dryness is annoying and i don't want it to turn into contact dermatitis or something worse if i just ignore it.
Few things i've been wondering. Does anyone dilute it differently to reduce the dryness, or rotate days off so the scalp can breathe? Also curious if applying it every other day vs daily makes a real difference for the anti-androgen effect at the follicle, since i've read the receptor binding only lasts around 8-12h anyway.
Anyone dealt with this and found something that actually helped without killing results? 🦵

- nightscott: Honestly sounds like the vehicle you're using is the bigger problem than the compound itself... Pg or ethanol bases wreck my scalp after a week or two. Switching to a heavier glycerin base made the flaking basically stop for me, still got the same effect on shedding. The every other day thing is interesting tho, if receptor turnover really is in that range then missing a day probably costs you less than people think but i havent actually tested it side by side. How are you tracking shedding btw
- holly763: Lol ok the glycerin switch is actually a really good call, didn't think the vehicle mattered that much tbh 🦵 Mine is in pg rn which explains a lot. Gonna try mixing it with a heavier base and see if the flaking calms down. For the eod question honestly i've just been going by hair in the brush and shower, nothing fancy. Probably should be more methodical about it tho if i'm gonna see if eod actually holds up. How long did it take u to notice less shedding on glycerin?
