Pramlintide nausea and hypo risk, how do you time it with meals?

Anecdotally I keep seeing people talk about pramlintide for appetite suppression but nobody mentions how rough the nausea can be early on. A friend of mine tried it before meals and said the first week was pretty miserable, like couldn't finish a small meal level of fullness. That matches what I'd expect from the gastric emptying slowdown but I'm curious how long it usually takes to settle out.

The bigger thing I wanna ask about is the hypoglycemia risk. The profile says it's used alongside insulin in diabetes settings, which makes sense because amylin and insulin work together. But people using it off-label for appetite control probably aren't on insulin. Does that lower the hypo risk significantly, or can pramlintide still drop glucose enough on its own to be a problem? The glucagon suppression after meals seems like it could cause issues even without exogenous insulin if someone is already prone to lows.

If anyone here has used it, did you notice any glucose crashes or just the nausea and fullness? Did you adjust meal timing or macro composition to deal with it? Just trying to get a sense of what people actually experienced vs the clinical use context.
