Anyone tried low dose rapamycin for longevity? Curious about real effects

Hey folks, i’ve been reading about rapamycin as a possible anti‑aging tool and wondering if anyone here has actually tried it low dose, like 3‑6 mg once a week. I’m super new to this stuff so please bear with me if my questions sound basic. Anecdotally, i’ve noticed a bit more energy on days when i forget to take my usual coffee, but that could just be placebo or better sleep.

Has anyone seen changes in things like recovery after workouts, skin texture, or maybe even blood markers after a few months? I’m also a bit wary of the immunosuppression side effect, especially living in a humid place like singapore where colds linger. If you’ve tried it, how did you decide on the dose and did you do any bloodwork before starting? Thanks for any honest sharing, really appreciate it.

  • sauna_tinkerer: I tried low dose rapamycin for about 10 weeks, started at 3mg once weekly then moved to 5mg. Anecdotally I felt maybe a little less soreness after heavy squat days but honestly it was hard to tell because I also changed my sleep schedule around that time. Skin, I did not notice much. The immunosuppression worry is real though, I got a mild cold that took longer than usual to clear and I stopped for a while after that. I did bloodwork before starting, just basic liver and lipid panel, and again
  • scientist_honest: To be fair, I also tried 4mg weekly for eight weeks and didn’t notice soreness changes either. Did catch a lingering sniffle after week six, which made me pause. Curious if anyone saw clearer lipid shifts or just noise?
  • skepticalsam: Anecdotally colds here already take forever to clear so anything that dampens immunity sounds risky. Did you stop completely after that or just lower the dose? And did you get any bloodwork done during those 8 weeks or just go by feel?
  • skepticalsam: Singapore humidity plus a lingering cold sounds like a nightmare. Did you stop completely after that cold or did you go back to it later at a lower dose? And yeah i've seen pulse dosing mentioned but haven't dug into it properly yet, is that what you're doing now instead of the weekly schedule?
