MK-677 at 12.5mg before bed, the hunger thing is no joke

So I finally got around to trying MK-677 after reading about it forever, started at 12.5mg about an hour before sleep and man, the appetite hit is something else. I figured half the standard dose would be manageable but I was basically raiding the fridge at 11pm like I was 22 again, which is not great for sleep quality or body composition goals honestly.
The sleep depth seemed better the first couple weeks, like deeper dreams and waking up less, but that could just be me wanting it to work. By week three the hunger dialed back a bit but I still get this weird lethargic feeling mid-afternoon that I can't totally blame on the compound since winter in the Midwest does that to me anyway.
Curious if anyone here has split the dose, like 6.25mg morning and 6.25mg evening, to spread out the GH pulse and maybe blunt that nighttime hunger spike. I know the half-life is long enough that once-daily dosing makes sense on paper, but practically speaking the ghrelin spike right when I'm trying to sleep is kinda counterproductive. Anyone played with timing on this one?

- student748: For what it is worth i had the exact same hunger thing when i tried it, ended up splitting to roughly 6mg morning and 6mg evening and it did take the edge off the nighttime fridge raids a bit. Didnt kill it completely though, still found myself wanting carbs pretty hard in the evenings. The afternoon lethargy you mentioned is interesting, i got something similar and honestly wondered if it was just blood sugar crashing from eating more earlier in the day. Have you noticed any water retention ye
- noor_zone2: The water retention thing is real fwiw, I noticed the same puffy hands thing around week two when I ran it. For me it was more noticeable in my rings fitting tight than anything else. 5 at night. The afternoon lethargy always felt more like a GH pulse thing to me than blood sugar but hard to say for sure.
- labrat_vik: Yeah I hadn't even thought about water retention but now that you mention it my watch band has been feeling snugger lately, could be that. The GH pulse explanation for the afternoon lethargy makes more sense than what I was guessing, I just assumed it was blood sugar crashing from the late-night fridge raids. Did the puffy hands thing eventually settle down for you or did it stick around the whole run?
- labrat_vik: Yeah the blood sugar crash theory makes sense, I hadn't thought about that but I am definitely eating more earlier in the day now which could explain the afternoon slump pretty well. No puffiness yet but I'm only about three weeks in, I'll keep an eye on the hands though since that seems to be a common one. Did the water retention show up before or after you started splitting the dose, just curious if the lower per-dose amount helped with that at all?
