Anyone actually get bloodwork before and after oxandrolone or are we all just vibes

For what it is worth, I keep seeing people talk about oxandrolone like it is the grand little helper of body recomp because it does not aromatise and the androgenic sides are supposedly minimal. Cool. But your man's HDL apparently tanks on it and nobody seems to actually check.
Has anyone here actually pulled lipids before and after a cycle? I am curious how bad the HDL drop really is in practice, not just what the bro forums say. Seems like the kind of thing you would want to know before you yeet your cardiovascular profile into the bin for a bit of extra lean tissue.
Also the liver stress bit, for what it is worth. People say it is mild but it is still an oral. Anyone run liver enzymes mid-cycle and see anything off? Or is everyone just assuming it is grand because the anabolic ratio looks nice on paper.
Not looking for anyone to tell me what to take or how much. Just wondering if the safety side of this is actually being tracked by anyone or if it is all hope and no bloods.

- midwest_scientist: Honestly I have not run oxandrolone myself so I cannot give you before and after numbers, which is kind of the whole problem you are pointing at right? Most people just do not bother. From the pharmacology side though, the HDL crash is not subtle. It is one of the most consistent findings with oral C17-alpha alkylated compounds, and oxandrolone is weirdly harsh on lipids compared to what people expect. The anabolic-to-androgenic ratio tells you nothing about cardiovascular risk, that is a compl
- labrat_hank: I actually ran oxandrolone last winter, got bloodwork before and exactly 3 weeks in. HDL dropped from 52 to 38, not catastrophic but definitely noticeable. LDL went up roughly 15 points. ALT/AST stayed flat for me, which was the surprise. Worth checking if you're running it, especially if you already have anything creeping up. Anybody else done a short run with lipid panels? I'm curious if the drop settles or keeps trending down after you stop.
- tiredmegan: Fair play for actually getting the panels, that is class. HDL 52 to 38 in three weeks is a bigger drop than I expected for that timeframe honestly. Did you recheck after you stopped to see if it bounced back quick or was it a slow crawl back up? That is the bit I am most curious about, whether your lipid profile sorts itself out in a few weeks or if it lingers like a bad smell.
- tiredmegan: Fair play for admitting you have not run it, that is kind of refreshing actually. Most lads would just make up numbers. The C17-alpha alkylated bit is what I keep coming back to. Like yeah the anabolic ratio is class on paper but your liver still has to process the thing. The HDL crash being consistent across orals makes sense, I just keep wondering if oxandrolone is genuinely worse than say something like turinabol for lipids or if they all just trash you roughly the same amount.
