Oral BPC-157 stacked with injectable L-carnitine for tendon recovery, anyone tried combining them?

So ive been running oral BPC-157 on and off for a stubborn patellar tendon thing for a few months now. Honestly feels like it helps a bit with the nagging ache but the progress is slow and im wondering if im missing something on the recovery side.

Been reading about injectable L-carnitine (/peptides/l-carnitine) and the whole fatty acid shuttling into mitochondria thing makes sense on paper for recovery. The profile says 500-2000mg 2-5x per week which is a pretty wide range honestly. Keen to know if anyone has actually stacked these two together or something similar.

My thinking is BPC-157 for the tendon repair side and L-carnitine for the energy/recovery side, but honestly i dont know if theres any reason that combo would be better than just running them separately at different times. Could be totally redundant.

Also not sure about timing, like does the carnitine injection matter pre vs post training? The half life is only 2-3 hours IM so im reckoning post session makes more sense but honestly just guessing here.

Anyone got experience with this kind of stack or is this a daft idea?

  • sleep_coastal: I ran oral BPC-157 for a shoulder thing last year and had similar slow-but-real progress on the ache. Anecdotally the oral route seems underwhelming for tendons compared to injectable but I get why people start there. I did add injectable L-carnitine later, not specifically for the tendon but for general recovery. Honestly I noticed better post-workout soreness reduction within maybe 10 days. Whether it helped the tendon heal faster is hard to say, could've just been the BPC catching up. I dose
  • tracker_jade: Anecdotally I had the same thought about oral BPC being underwhelming for tendons versus injectable. Did you notice any difference in the shoulder once you added the carnitine, or was it really just the soreness thing? I keep wondering if the fatty acid shuttle angle actually does anything for connective tissue or if that's mostly muscle benefit. What dose were you running on the carnitine?
  • curious_scientist: I’ve tried oral BPC-157 alone and felt a modest ache drop. Adding injectable L-carnitine post-workout seemed to cut my soreness faster, though I can’t tell if the tendon healed quicker. Imo worth a short trial.
  • kenji_runs: Cheers for that, good to hear someone else got the modest ache drop from oral bpc too. The post-workout carnitine timing is interesting, did you go straight after training or like an hour later? And what dose were you running, cos that 500-2000mg range is massive and i genuinely dont know where to start in there. Honestly if it just cuts soreness a bit faster thats already something for me.
  • kenji_runs: Cheers for the reply but think you might have me mixed up with someone else, mine was a patellar tendon not a shoulder. And honestly i havent actually tried the carnitine yet, thats kinda why i posted, was keen to hear if anyone had run it alongside BPC before i commit to it. Your point about the fatty acid shuttle maybe being mostly muscle benefit rather than connective tissue is exactly what im worried about though. Did you end up trying injectable BPC for your tendon stuff and was it noticeab
  • kenji_runs: Cheers for that, the 10-day timeline on soreness reduction is useful to know. Did you stick with oral bpc the whole time or did you switch to injectable for the shoulder in the end? Kinda curious whether you felt the oral was actually doing anything for the tendon itself or if it was more just taking the edge off the ache like mine seems to be. Reckon i might just try the carnitine post-training like you said and see what happens before overcomplicating it.
