N-Acetyl Semax Amidate vs regular Semax, my focus notes

I’ve been experimenting with intranasal nootropics for a few months now and wanted to share what I’ve noticed between regular Semax and the N‑Acetyl Semax Amidate version. I started with plain Semax at about 300 mcg twice a day, morning and early afternoon. I felt a quick lift in attention within 20 minutes, but it tended to fade after a couple of hours and sometimes left me a bit irritable if I took it too late.

Switching to the N‑Acetyl Semax Amidate at a similar dose gave me a smoother, longer‑lasting sense of mental clarity that lasted through my study sessions without the crash. I didn’t notice any extra nasal irritation beyond what I already got from the spray bottle. Anecdotally, stacking a low dose of N‑Acetyl Selank Amidate in the evening helped take the edge off any overstimulation from the Semax analog and improved my mood the next day.

Just my own experience, but if you’re looking for something with a bit more staying power the amidate version might be worth a try. Always start low and see how you react.

  • curious_scientist: The smoother profile tracks with what I'd expect from the amidate modification, more resistance to enzymatic breakdown so you get a longer tail. I noticed something similar when I tried the amidate version, less of that sharp peak and drop. For me the regular stuff felt almost too front-loaded, like a caffeine jab without the jitters but gone fast. The Selank combo in the evening is interesting. I haven't tried stacking them that way. Did you space them out by several hours or take the Selank c
  • sleep_coastal: I spaced them out pretty wide, usually last Semax dose around 1 or 2 pm and then Selank around 9 pm, so a good 7 hours or so. Anecdotally that gap felt important, any closer and I'd get a weird wired-but-tired thing. I took the Selank maybe an hour before bed and it seemed fine, sleep felt deeper if anything. Could just be placebo though. The "too front-loaded" thing you mentioned is exactly right, that sharp peak on regular Semax is what bugged me most.
