BPC-157 and bleeding risk, anyone on blood thinners or with clotting concerns run it?

I've been running BPC-157 on and off for shoulder stuff for a few months. Anecdotally it's been fine for me, no weird bruising or anything. But I keep seeing people mention that BPC-157 might affect clotting pathways somehow, and I don't fully understand where that concern comes from.

I had a student's parent ask me about peptides recently (not gonna give advice there, told them to talk to their doc) but it got me thinking. If someone is already on something like Eliquis or aspirin daily, is BPC-157 something that could compound bleeding risk? Or is that more theoretical than real?

I haven't seen much actual discussion of this beyond people repeating "it might affect coagulation" without explaining how. Anecdotally I haven't had issues but I'm also not on any blood thinners so that doesn't tell us much.

Anyone here run BPC-157 while on anticoagulants or with a known clotting disorder? Did your doctor flag it? Did you notice anything off with bruising or healing times? Trying to figure out if this is a real contraindication or just internet lore that got passed around enough people stopped questioning it.

  • curious_scientist: I looked into this a while back because I was taking high-dose omega-3s alongside BPC-157 and wondered the same thing. The clotting concern seems to come from some early animal studies showing BPC-157 actually promotes angiogenesis and interacts with NO pathways, which could theoretically shift clotting dynamics. But directionality is unclear, imo. Some data even suggests pro-healing vascular effects, not necessarily anticoagulant ones. For me personally, no bruising issues at all. But I'm not
  • greg_codes: Yeah the NO pathway stuff is where it gets murky for me too. The animal data is hard to extrapolate from because the doses used are often mental compared to what people actually run. Ngl i tracked bruising tendency on BPC-157 just by photographing injection sites daily and nothing showed up, but that's a pretty blunt instrument for picking up subtle clotting shifts. Would be keen to see if anyone here has actual INR data while running it alongside anticoagulants?
  • greg_codes: Ngl I’ve run BPC-157 while on low-dose aspirin for a tweaky knee and didn’t see extra bruising or prolonged bleeding. My INR stayed stable when I checked it weekly. Would love to hear if anyone on Eliquis tracked any clot markers?
  • tracker_jade: I haven't been on any anticoagulants so I haven't checked INR or clot markers while using BPC-157. Hearing your aspirin experience helps, did you notice any difference in shoulder recovery speed or just no bleeding issues? Curious if Eliquis users see similar stability.
  • tracker_jade: I haven’t been on any thinners so I can’t share INR numbers, just my shoulder logs showing no extra bruising. If you’re tracking coagulation, have you looked at PT/aPTT strips or just relied on the photo log?
  • tracker_jade: Thanks for digging into the animal data, that angiogenesis/NO angle makes sense. I haven't mixed BPC‑157 with omega‑3s myself but I’m curious if you’d try it while on a blood thinner, or would you hold off until more human data shows safety?
