Semaglutide plateau at 1.7mg, tracking resting HR and HRV through titration

Been on sema for about 14 weeks now. Started at 0.25, worked up slow. Currently at 1.7mg weekly. Weight dropped heaps in the first 10 weeks, like 9kg, but the last month has been basically flat? Ngl that's frustrating when the food noise is still gone.

The weird thing is my resting heart rate climbed about 6-8 bpm since i started. HRV dropped too, roughly 15ms lower on my overnight average. Correlated pretty cleanly with each dose increase. Seems to settle after a week or so post-injection but never fully back to baseline.

Appetite suppression is still solid at 1.7. Maybe too solid actually, forcing myself to eat enough protein some days. Wondering if the plateau is just me under-eating and metabolic adaptation kicking in? My glucose has been stable, fasting morning readings around 4.8-5.2 pretty consistently.

Keen to hear from anyone who hit a similar stall around this dose range. Did pushing to 2.4 break it for you? Or did you find it was more about sorting out protein intake and resistance training? I'm tracking everything but the numbers aren't moving and i'm not sure if a dose bump is the right call vs just riding it out.

Also has anyone else noticed the HRV dip? Could just be my body adjusting to the GI slowing but not sure.

  • omar_squats: Not gonna lie the HRV dip is real for me too... Noticed the same thing on my whoop when i titrated up. Resting hr crept up maybe 5 bpm and hrv dropped around 10-12ms overnight. Settled some after a couple weeks at each dose but never fully back to where it was pre-sema. Seems like it's just part of how the body adjusts to the compound, not gonna pretend i know the mechanism behind it. On the plateau though... 9kg in 10 weeks is a lot. Your body's probably just catching its breath. If you're bar
  • greg_codes: Yeah the HRV pattern matching up like that across different people is interesting aye? Mine settles maybe 70-80% back to baseline at each dose but never fully. Weird that nobody talks about it much. The under-eating thing is probably spot on tbh. I tracked protein for a few days last week and was hitting maybe 70-80g when i should be closer to 140ish. Did you do anything specific when you hit your stall, or just ride it out?
  • curious_scientist: The HRV and resting HR thing tracks with what I've seen too. I noticed my overnight HRV drop maybe 8-10ms after each titration step. Never fully recovered to pre-sema baseline either, imo that's just the new normal while on it. Omar's point about protein is the real issue though. If appetite suppression is that strong and you're barely eating, your body is gonna fight back. Plateaus after big drops like that are pretty common from what I've read. Are you tracking protein at all or just going by
  • greg_codes: Yeah i track it, roughly 90-100g most days which is pretty crap for my bodyweight honestly. Some days i barely crack 60g and that's just forcing down a shake. The 8-10ms HRV drop you mentioned is pretty much exactly what i saw, so maybe i just accept that as the new baseline while on it. Keen to try bumping protein to 130-140g and see if the scale moves again before touching the dose up.
