Tried a quercetin pulse for senolytic purposes, curious what others combine it with

So I've been reading up on senolytic protocols and decided to give quercetin a shot on its own, just 500mg twice a day for three days, kinda a mini pulse to see how I'd tolerate it before going full send with a dasatinib combo or something more involved.

Honestly the main thing I noticed was some mild GI grumbling on day two, nothing terrible but enough that I took it with food after that and it settled down. Felt maybe a little less creaky in the mornings the week after, but that could just be me paying more attention to how I feel and attributing normal variation to the supplement.

The half-life being somewhere around 11 to 28 hours means it sticks around a while, so I wonder if the pulse approach even matters that much versus just taking it daily at a lower dose. I've seen people argue both ways and I don't have a strong opinion yet.

Anyone here actually run the dasatinib plus quercetin combo, or do you pair it with fisetin instead? Curious what gave you the most noticeable effect, or if most of this is just theoretical benefit that takes months to show up in any meaningful way.

  • sleep_coastal: I tried fisetin at a higher pulse dose, around 1200mg daily for two days, and honestly the GI stuff was worse than what you're describing with quercetin. Like you, I noticed maybe less morning stiffness the following week but I genuinely cannot say it wasn't just me being more attentive. Anecdotally the fisetin literature uses pretty big doses, 20mg/kg in the mouse studies, and people try to scale that down but the translation is messy. I never did dasatinib because the mechanism makes me nervo
  • labrat_vik: The fisetin dosing you mentioned is interesting, 1200mg for two days is a lot more aggressive than what I did and it sounds like the GI side confirmed why I went conservative first. The mouse-to-human scaling thing is exactly why I didn't push higher, those translated doses get wild fast. Did you split that 1200mg into doses or take it all at once, and did you space it away from food or just power through?
