Pentosan polysulfate for cartilage repair, anyone actually tried it for joint stuff?

Honestly been reading up on pentosan polysulfate lately and im intrigued but also a bit sceptical. The mechanism sounds decent on paper, stimulates proteoglycan synthesis, inhibits MMPs, improves synovial fluid quality. Seems like its proper disease-modifying rather than just masking pain which is what got my attention.
Seen it mentioned for osteoarthritis and cartilage repair but most of the data seems to come from vet use (cartrophen etc). The oral dosing is like 100mg 3x daily which is a fair bit, and there's a rare maculopathy risk with long-term high dose oral use which makes me a bit nervous.
My question is has anyone here actually run it for a joint issue and felt something? Im dealing with some knee cartilage thinning that physio alone isnt sorting and im wondering if pentosan is worth exploring before going down the bpc/tb route again. Bpc helped with a tendon thing before but cartilage is a different beast reckon.
Also curious if the SC version people talk about is just the vet product repurposed or if theres a legit human-grade option. Not asking for sources just whether people are using the same compound that's in the interstitial cystitis prescription.
The bleeding risk thing puts me off a bit too since im on fish oils daily. Would that be a daft combo?
