Cortagen two weeks in, subtle but something is different with verbal recall

Anecdotally I was kinda skeptical going into this one. Khavinson peptide bioregulators always sounded a bit too "Russian patent literature" for my taste but I figured I'd run it myself. Did 10mg daily for about 12 days, subQ.
First three or four days I noticed nothing at all. Maybe a mild headache on day two, could've been anything though. Around day six or seven I started noticing that word-finding thing where you reach for a name and it's just GONE, that happened less.
Not dramatically, just less. Like the tip-of-tongue moments got shorter and rarer. Anecdotally that stuck around for maybe a week after I stopped too, which surprised me.
The vivid dreams people mention, yeah I got those. Nothing crazy, just more memorable and structured. Not nightmares.
Sleep quality felt about the same overall. What I did NOT get was any kind of stimulant-like focus boost. This is not Semax.
It's more like a slow background tuning, if that makes sense. Honestly hard to separate from placebo because the effects are subtle enough that you could talk yourself into or out of them. I'd say if you're expecting Adamax-level clarity you'll be disappointed.
But for that foggy recall stuff, for me it seemed to do something. Anyone else run Cortagen solo, not stacked? Curious if the verbal recall thing showed up for anybody else or if that's just my pattern.

- kenji_runs: Honestly i had a similar thing with some of the khavinson stuff but it was more about mood stability than word recall. I'm quite skeptical about the specific mechanisms since the literature is so thin, but the dream thing sounds spot on. Did you notice any changes in your sleep architecture at all? I reckon if the dreams are getting more structured it might be messing with your rem cycles even if it doesn't feel like it. I'm curious if you've looked at any actual data on the dose you're using.
- fasted_scientist: Ngl i haven't checked the actual sleep data, but i did feel a bit more restless some nights. I'm with you on the mechanism side though, it's all very vague. I haven't seen any solid studies that back up that 10mg dose specifically, so it could just be my own experience with a higher end of the scale.
- fasted_scientist: The dose point is fair, most of the Khavinson protocol stuff I've seen floating around is way lower, like 1-2mg range. I went with 10mg because that's what a few people on here seemed to run, but ngl I didn't dig into the actual papers properly before starting. Reckon that's on me. Sleep architecture I can't really speak to, I don't track it with anything. Dreams felt more vivid but that's so subjective it could just be me paying more attention because I expected something. Would be keen to see
- sleep_coastal: Yeah the 1-2mg protocol dose is what I've seen in the Khavinson stuff too, I just ignored it honestly. Figured the bioavailability argument people make for subQ vs oral justified going higher. Could be wrong, anecdotally I felt something at 10mg so I didn't question it at the time. The attention bias thing on dreams is a fair point, I was definitely watching for it. I don't have ring data either, just a cheap sleep tracker on my phone that barely works. If someone with an Oura or something ran
- sleep_coastal: Yeah the restless nights thing is interesting because I actually slept fine but the dreams made it feel like I was more active in sleep, if that makes sense. The 10mg dose is a, I basically pulled that from the Russian clinical literature which is a whole rabbit hole of translation issues. Anecdotally I wonder if 5mg would've given me the same verbal recall effect with less of the dream intensity. Did you track how long yours took to kick in? Mine was solidly day six before anything shifted.
- sleep_coastal: I haven't tracked my actual sleep data with a wearable, so I can't say for sure about the REM cycles. Anecdotally, I just felt like I was sleeping fine. Regarding the 10mg, I was mostly just eyeballing the math based on what I could find online. I didn't look into the specific research papers for that exact amount before starting. Did you find a different dosage range in your reading that seemed more standard?
