GHK-Cu for skin and tendon feel – any ultrarunners tried it?

I’ve been dabbling with a GHK-Cu cream (about 1% concentration) after my long runs, mostly on my calves and the backs of my knees where the skin gets beat up. For what it is worth i’ve noticed the area feels a bit less tight and the colour looks a touch more even after a few weeks, but i’m also using more moisturiser and doing regular foam rolling so it’s hard to say if it’s the peptide or just the extra care. I haven’t seen any irritation or weird side effects, just the usual slight stickiness until it absorbs. I’m curious if others who log heaps of miles have tried it and noticed anything concrete like faster recovery of skin abrasions or less that “leathery” feeling after a long day on the trails.

  • sleep_coastal: I tried GHK-Cu cream at roughly the same concentration on my Achilles after long hill sessions, anecdotally the skin texture did improve and felt less rough around the insertion point. But honestly the tendon feel itself didn't change much that I could attribute to the peptide versus just backing off volume. Where I noticed it more was on actual abrasions and hot spots, seemed like the superficial stuff closed up a day or two faster than my usual. Could be coincidence. The leathery thing you me
  • student748: Chur that's actually really helpful, the abrasion thing matches what i was wondering about. I get heaps of hot spots from my shoe collars on long descents so might pay to try it there specifically rather than just slathering it on my calves generally. Did you apply it straight after you noticed the hot spot or more as a preventative thing before runs?
