P21 CNTF-derived peptide for neurogenesis, anyone following the BDNF angle

Just came across this one on the forum profile page (/peptides/p21) and honestly i had not heard of it before. Its a tetrapeptide derived from CNTF that apparently crosses the blood-brain barrier and boosts BDNF while promoting hippocampal neurogenesis. The interesting bit is it supposedly does this without the appetite suppression that full CNTF causes, which sounds promising if it holds up.
For what it is worth, the dose range listed is 50-100 mcg/kg daily which seems like a lot compared to other nootropic peptides i have seen discussed here. Half-life is only 4-6 hours so daily dosing makes sense i guess but i wonder what that does to receptor signalling long term.
The thing that gets me is the safety data is basically non-existent from what i can tell. No human trials, just preclinical stuff. As someone who is new to all this i am genuinely curious whether anyone here has actually run it and noticed anything cognitive. The BDNF angle is appealing to me because heavy training weeks absolutely tank my mental sharpness and i have been looking at things that might help with that. But yeah nah, i am pretty hesitant about brain-penetrant peptides with zero human safety data behind them. Keen to hear if anyone has tracked mood or cognition on it though.
