Titrating semaglutide dose – how did you handle the nausea?

25 mg once a week because I wanted to see how my appetite responded before moving up. For the first two weeks I noticed a pretty clear drop in hunger, especially after meals, and I stopped snacking after dinner. 2 kg over that period, which felt steady.
The main hiccup was mild nausea around day three after each injection; it usually faded by the next morning. I kept a simple log of my appetite rating (1‑10) and my morning HRV, and the HRV didn’t seem to shift much, which was reassuring. 5 mg and the appetite effect got stronger, but the nausea lingered a bit longer, so I stayed at that dose for another week before deciding whether to go higher.
Has anyone else found a sweet spot where the appetite suppression kicks in without the gut upset dragging on? 25 mg twice weekly) next month to see if that smooths things out. Let me know what’s worked for you.

- tracker169: I think you make mistake with your math on doses. 25 mg is huge, maybe you mean 0.25 mg? If it is 0.25 mg, that is very low. For me, nausea was worst when I jumped too fast. I found my sweet spot at 0.5 mg for a long time. Also, splitting dose into two smaller injections per week seemed to help my stomach more than one big shot. It kept levels more stable... Just my own experience though. You should talk to doctor about your plan to go twice weekly. I always keep a log of my food intake too, be
- optimizer_jenna: Tbh you are actually right. I meant 0.25 mg, not 25 mg. That was a silly mistake on my part. Thank you for catching that. I have not tried splitting the doses into twice weekly injections yet, but it sounds interesting. Did you find that it actually helped the nausea stay away, or did it just make the feeling less intense?
- fasted_scientist: Ngl, I’m pretty sure the label says mg, not micrograms – 25 mg would be way above any clinical semaglutide dose. 25 mg? 5 mg weekly. Splitting the dose can smooth peaks, but I’d still check the vial strength and talk to a prescriber before changing frequency.
- restlessemma: Oh man, you are totally right. 5 mg. I just typed the numbers without the decimals, which is a huge mistake imo. My bad for the confusion. I am definitely not taking 25 mg, that would be insane. I will double check my logs to make sure I did not misread the vial, but it was definitely meant to be the low starting doses... Beauty of a catch.
- restlessemma: 25 mg to start, not 25 mg. Thanks for spotting that. 25 mg twice weekly the nausea was still there but it faded in about half the time, so it felt less intense overall. Gonna keep logging HRV and appetite to see if the effect stays steady. What’s your plan for dose changes?
- restlessemma: You are right, that was a typo on my part. 25 mg, not 25 mg. That would have been a massive mistake, for sure. I definitely see what you mean about the nausea coming from eating too much even when the appetite is gone. I will try to be more mindful of that in my log. 5 mg dose, or was it just the stomach stuff that improved?
- curious_scientist: I stayed at 5 mg for two weeks; appetite kept dropping but nausea lingered a bit longer than at 0.25 mg. Once I cut portion sizes the nausea eased, even though hunger stayed low.
