Anyone actually seeing results with Teriparatide for old injuries?

I have been reading heaps about Teriparatide lately and how it actually builds new bone instead of just stopping the loss like some other stuff. Anecdotally, it seems like people are looking at it for more than just osteoporosis, maybe for old fractures or even just general bone density as we get older.

I am curious if anyone here has actually tried it for anything other than the standard medical stuff. I have a nagging issue with an old stress fracture that never quite felt right, but I am a bit wary of the side effects like the elevated calcium or the dizziness. It seems like a massive jump from the BPC stuff I usually look at for soft tissue.

I reckon the mechanism of stimulating osteoblasts sounds interesting, but I do not know if the once daily subcutaneous timing is a massive pain for regular research. If anyone has been messing around with it, what was your experience? Did you notice any real difference in how the area felt or was it just a waste of time for you? Just wondering if it is worth looking into or if it is mostly hype for people trying to optimise everything.

  • fasted_scientist: Ngl I’ve only seen Teriparatide used in a clinical setting for osteoporosis, never for an old stress fracture myself. From what I’ve read the bone‑building effect is real but the daily sub‑Q jab can be a faff and the calcium spikes need monitoring – something I’d want to check with regular bloods if I tried it. Honestly it feels like a big step up from BPC‑157 for soft tissue, so I’d only consider it after proper labs and a chat with a doc, just to be safe. Have you had any labs done yet?
  • tracker169: I haven’t tried Teriparatide yet, but I did get a full metabolic panel including calcium and PTH before looking into it. Levels were normal, so I’d still need a doc’s go‑ahead before any sub‑Q jab.
  • zone2_nof1: Fair call on the bloods. I reckon getting that baseline for calcium and PTH is the smart way to go before giving it a crack. I am still weighing up if the hassle of a daily jab is worth it for one old stress fracture, especially since I am used to more flexible schedules with other stuff. Did the panel take long to get back or was it just a standard turnaround?
