This article from CU Anschutz discusses the clinical trials for Orforglipron, which is a non-peptide oral pill for weight loss. It shows that this once-daily pill might achieve results similar to the injectable peptide versions we see everywhere now.

I actually find this quite interesting because the administration part is such a huge hurdle for most people. Tbh, the idea of a non-peptide pill is very promising for long-term use since it avoids the weekly injection struggle. However, I am a bit skeptical about how the side effects will compare to the actual peptides. Often, the delivery method changes how the body reacts, and I wonder if a small molecule pill might cause more GI issues since it is not being absorbed through subcutaneous tissue. It feels like the hype around oral versions is growing, but we need more data on the actual patient experience during these long trials.

Do you think people will actually stick to a daily pill better than a weekly injection, or will the daily reminder become a nuisance?
