Rubedo announced in May 2025 that the first patient was dosed in a Phase 1 basket trial testing topical RLS-1496 for adults with dermatology indications. The study is running at a single center in the Netherlands. I came across it while browsing longevity news and was curious whether a topical approach could actually reach senescent cells in skin without systemic exposure.

The idea feels worth watching, especially since senolytics have mostly been discussed as systemic interventions, but I'm also skeptical, skin barrier function and actual penetration into dermal tissue are real practical hurdles that animal data don't always translate to. Has anyone here tried senolytic compounds orally or transdermally and noticed a difference in recovery or texture? I'd love to hear what's worked for you personally, or if this just sounds like another overhyped pipeline step.
