Scalp irritation from RU-58841 topical application

I have been reading a lot about RU-58841 for hair research since I am quite worried about thinning, but I am actually a bit nervous about the application itself. From what I can see, it is a non-steroidal topical anti-androgen, which sounds much safer than oral options because it should not have systemic effects. Tbh, the idea of blocking DHT only at the follicle level is very appealing to me.

However, I am seeing many reports regarding scalp irritation and dryness. Some people even mention contact dermatitis. Since I have quite sensitive skin, I am worried this might be a problem for me. I want to be careful about how I approach this.

Has anyone else experienced significant redness or itching when using this? I am wondering if there is a way to mitigate the irritation, perhaps by using a different vehicle or applying it less frequently at the start. I would also love to know if anyone has found any specific citations regarding the long-term skin safety of these topical blockers. It seems like a very grey area since it is still a research chemical.
