What does subcutaneous mean and how do I do it right?

Hey folks, I’m totally new to this and trying to follow a beginner protocol for BPC‑157. The instructions say to inject subcutaneously but I’m not exactly sure what that entails. Do I just pinch a bit of skin on my belly and jab the needle in at a 45 degree angle?
Or should I go straight in? I’ve seen videos but they all look a bit different and I don’t want to mess up or cause an infection. NGL I’m a bit nervous about doing it wrong since I’m an ICU nurse and I know how important sterile technique is, but I’ve never done self‑injections before.
Could anyone walk me through the exact steps, what supplies I need (alcohol swabs, needle size, etc.) and how to tell if I’ve hit the right layer? Also, if I accidentally go too deep, is that a big deal or just uncomfortable? Thanks for any clear, simple guidance.
