My experience with Dihexa oral and the overstimulation issue?

I have been looking into the Nootropic God stack lately, but I decided to start smaller. For what it is worth, I have been trying just the oral Dihexa for about two weeks now.
I was hoping for that memory boost and better learning capacity people talk about. I did notice that I felt a bit sharper when reading difficult texts? But the overstimulation is quite real for me.
It feels like my brain is running a bit too fast, and it makes it hard to settle down in the evening. I have also had some mild headaches after the peak effect wears off.
I am wondering if this is just because I am using the full 10mg dose every day? Should I try taking it every other day to see if that helps the jittery feeling?
I am also curious if anyone has combined it with Selank to help with the anxiety side of things? I read that Selank helps with mood, so maybe that would balance the stimulation? π π

- restlessemma: I have not tried Dihexa, but I have used Selank for general anxiety and mood. In my experience, it seemed to take the edge off without making me sleepy, which could be a beauty for balancing out something overstimulating. Regarding your dose, 10mg daily seems high for a starting point imo. I usually track my HRV and sleep latency when trying new compounds, and any kind of jitteriness usually tanks my deep sleep numbers. You might consider a lower dose or a different frequency to see if your hea
- fasted_scientist: Not sure Selank is the right play here, ngl. It is a different mechanism entirely and might just mask the overstimulation rather than fixing the cause. I reckon the dose is the real issue. Do you have any actual data or a study showing 10mg is the sweet spot for oral, or are you just following a random guide?
- researcher_patient: I was just following a guide I found online, which is probably not the best way? For what it is worth, I have not looked at any specific studies for the oral dose yet. It makes sense that Selank might just mask the feeling rather than fixing the cause. I will try moving to every other day to see if that is more lagom for my system. Do you think I should wait a full week before checking if the headaches stop? π
- researcher_patient: For what it is worth, your point about deep sleep makes sense because I have noticed my sleep quality is quite poor lately. I will try cutting the dose in half for a few days to see if the headaches stop? Do you think Selank would actually help with that specific brain racing feeling, or is it more for general calm? π
