Confused about collagen vs elastin for skin stuff

I have been reading up on some of the skin stuff lately and I am a bit lost on where to actually start. I am looking into /peptides/collagen-peptides and /peptides/elastin-peptides because I want to try and improve my skin texture and maybe help with some fine lines.
Ngl it is a bit overwhelming with all the different types. I see people talking about taking collagen orally in large amounts like 10g or 15g a day, but then I see elastin being used topically or in smaller doses. I am trying to figure out if they are actually doing different things or if it is just marketing fluff.
From what I have gathered, collagen seems to be more about the structure and hydration, while elastin is more about the bounce and resilience. But I cannot tell if I should be looking for a combo or if one is just better than the other to start with. Does anyone here actually use both? I am keen to get a proper handle on the basics before I spend any money on anything. If anyone has a simple way to look at these protocols without getting bogged down in the heavy science, I would appreciate it.
