Orforglipron oral GLP-1 research looks interesting

I was reading up on the latest for orforglipron and it seems pretty wild. It is an oral non-peptide GLP-1 agonist. Most of the stuff people talk about requires those weekly shots but this is a small molecule. That means it actually has high oral bioavailability.
Anecdotally, I have seen people struggle so much with the logistics of injections, so a daily pill could be a beauty for some. The research says it might achieve weight loss around 8 to 14 percent. That sounds decent, though I am a bit skeptical about how it compares to the heavy hitters like semaglutide once it hits the market.
I am also a bit wary of the side effects. The notes mention nausea and diarrhea being dose dependent. Since it is a small molecule, I wonder if the way it hits the system feels different than the peptide versions. I am curious if anyone has seen any specific human trial data on how the nausea compares to the injectable stuff? It feels like a huge step for accessibility, but I want to see more long term safety data before I get too excited... 🧬
