FDA considers easing limits on unproven peptides used by biohackers

There's a PBS piece about the FDA looking at relaxing restrictions on peptides that lots of people are using off-label for things like recovery and body composition. The article notes that BPC-157 and TB-500 show up on doping banned lists, which felt familiar since I've seen those discussed in rehab circles. What got my attention was how the piece framed this as a tension between patient access and safety data, nobody's saying these are proven treatments, but people are already using them.
I'm curious whether easing limits would mean more compounding pharmacy options or just more unregulated product moving online. My own experience with research peptides has been pretty quiet, mostly HRV and sleep tracking to see if there's any signal worth chasing, but nothing dramatic enough to write home about. I'd love to hear what people who've run longer protocols think about whether more access equals better oversight or just more noise.
