PE 22-28 and the TREK-1 channel research

I was reading about PE 22-28 recently and it is getting a bit more buzz in the nootropic circles? It is a synthetic peptide made from spadin that works by blocking the TREK-1 potassium channel. The idea is that it could help with neuroplasticity and even act as a fast antidepressant by increasing synaptogenesis.

Not gonna lie, the idea of something working much faster than traditional SSRIs sounds deadly, but it is still mostly preclinical research. I see people talking about it for mood and neurogenesis, but we really do not know the human safety side of things yet. It is different from the classic psychedelics like LSD that we see in more clinical trials for anxiety.

I am curious if anyone here follows the TREK-1 research closely? It seems like a massive jump from animal models to actual human use, especially since we do not have established doses. I wonder if the neuroplasticity benefits are actually as rapid as the studies suggest or if that is just early hype? 🧠
