Confused by all the acetylated versions of semax and selank

Im trying to get my head around these nootropic peptides but im a bit lost with all the different names. I keep seeing regular semax or selank but then there are all these versions like NA Semax Amidate or N-Acetyl Selank Amidate. From what i can gather the acetyl and amidate bits just make them more stable so they dont break down as fast but im struggling to understand how that actually changes how i should use them.
Im a total beginner so im not sure if i should be looking at the base versions or if the acetylated ones are better to start with for someone just trying to manage focus and stress. I dont want to mess up the timing or the maths if the half life is different. Does anyone know if the nasal irritation is much worse with the amidate versions or is it pretty much the same?
I reckon im just overthinking the chemistry but its a bit daunting when you first start reading these protocols. Any help for a newbie would be brilliant.
