Just read this al jazeera piece about how the longevity boom is getting ahead of the science. It's the same old story, companies promising radical life extension, investors throwing money at anything with "anti-aging" in the pitch, and real research struggling to keep up. The article mentions putin and xi jinping talking about living to 150, which feels more like sci-fi marketing than where the science actually is. I've seen threads here where people talk about stacking ghk-cu, nmn, rapamycin like it's a given, but the long-term data just isn't there yet. A lot of it feels like optimism dressed up as evidence.
The part that stuck with me is how the piece notes the field is moving faster than the ethics and safety frameworks can handle. That tracks with what i've observed, folks chasing every new peptide or NAD+ booster without bloodwork or cycling guidance, just because some influencer said it worked for them. I'm curious if anyone here has actually seen measurable biomarker changes from these compounds, or if it's mostly just feeling younger without hard data to back it up. Would love to hear what people are actually tracking versus what's just anecdotal.
