This is about the mhra approving foundayo for use in the uk. It is basically lillys oral version of their obesity meds for people with a high bmi or other health issues.
I reckon this is a brilliant move for accessibility, but i am a bit skeptical about the actual efficacy compared to the injections. For me, the data usually shows that oral absorption is way more hit or miss. I have always tracked my fasted glucose and hrv to see how these things affect my system, and injections just seem more predictable. I worry that people will find the pill easier to take but then get gutted when the weight loss isnt as aggressive as the injectable versions. ๐ฅ
Do you think the convenience of a pill is worth a potential drop in potency? I would be keen to see some actual bloodwork comparisons between the two formats before i would ever switch. ๐
