PE 22-28 and TREK-1 channel blockade for mood

I was reading about PE 22-28 recently and it seems quite interesting for neuroplasticity. From what i can gather, it is a synthetic peptide derived from spadin that targets the TREK-1 potassium channel. The idea is that blocking this channel might help with synaptogenesis and neurogenesis, which could potentially help with depression much faster than standard SSRIs.
I am still very new to all this peptide stuff, so i find the mechanism a bit hard to wrap head around, but the idea of fast acting antidepressant effects sounds brilliant if it actually works in humans. Most of the data i see seems to be preclinical, so it is still mostly animal models and not proven for people yet. I reckon we should be careful with the hype because human safety is still a big unknown here. It sounds like it could be massive for recovery research, but i am skeptical about how easy it will be to dose safely without more data.
Has anyone else been looking into TREK-1 inhibition? Do you think we are still years away from seeing any real human trials for this kind of thing?
