Anyone looking into amlexanox for metabolic stuff?

I have been reading a bit about amlexanox lately and its catching my interest. From what I can gather, it is an anti-inflammatory that targets those TBK1 and IKKe kinases. Apparently, those enzymes are a big part of why insulin resistance happens when people are carrying extra weight. If you can block them, it might help sort out thermogenesis and get the metabolism moving a bit more properly.
I am quite cautious with anything that claims to do a metabolic reset, as it sounds a bit too good to be true sometimes. I have seen some talk about it being used for stubborn weight loss in telemedicine circles, but there is not a huge amount of anecdotal stuff here yet.
I am curious if anyone has actually looked into this or tried it in their own research. I read the typical doses mentioned are around 25 to 100 mg three times a day, but that seems like a lot to manage given the short half life. I am mainly interested in how it affects energy levels and if the GI side effects are as common as people say. 🙋
