This RTE Primetime piece features a professor from Maynooth talking about the peptide market and the actual science behind stuff like BPC-157. He basically says the studies show some modest benefits for muscle and injury recovery but notes the research only lasted about two weeks.

For what it is worth, that sounds slightly terrifying. Two weeks of data is basically nothing when you are talking about long term use for chronic tendon issues. It is grand that he says there is no obvious harm yet, but I am not exactly convinced we know the full story on what happens after a few months of use. It feels like we are all just massive guinea pigs in a giant, unmonitored experiment.

The article is a bit too cautious for my liking, but I suppose he has to be. If the benefits are only modest, is it even worth the hassle of a long protocol? Or are we all just chasing a placebo effect because we want to feel less knackered?
