Anyone notice liver changes on labs when taking oxandrolone?

I started 20 mg of oxandrolone split in the morning and evening a few months back to help rebuild muscle after a training setback. After about six weeks I pulled my routine blood work in the lab, and the doctor mentioned my ALT was on the higher side of the reference range. Nothing dramatic, but I know from what I’ve heard that oxandrolone can put mild liver stress.

I’m not going off the drug yet – I figured it was part of the expected side effect list – but it made me wonder how others have handled this. Do you all do regular liver panels when you’re on it? I’ve read that the drug’s half‑life is about nine hours and it doesn’t aromatize, so the liver load is mostly from the metabolism of the steroid itself.

Also, I’m curious if anyone has tried mixing in a lower dose or taking it only for a few weeks at a time to see if the liver values hold steady. Any practical tips on monitoring or shortening the cycle would be appreciated.
