glynac for energy, sleep and a bit of skin glow

anecdotally i started taking GlyNAC about six months ago after a chat with a friend who’s into longevity. i was 38, working long shifts and feeling a bit sluggish, my sleep cycling off and my skin a bit dull. I split the dose in the morning and evening, about 10 g of glycine and 10 g of NAC each time, which is roughly the 100 mg/kg per kg guideline the study used for older adults, but i’ve kept it lower to avoid the loose stools the higher dose can bring.
after a month i noticed my energy during the gym a lot steadier – no mid‑morning slump, and my nights were a little deeper, I woke up less often. I also felt my skin was a touch brighter, like a subtle glow, though i can’t prove it’s not just the new diet I tried. the only side effect i had was a mild sulfur smell in the breath after the first few days, which went away.
i haven’t had any major issues and my coach says my VO2 max is up a few points. i’m not claiming it’s a cure, but for me it’s been a solid tweak to my routine. give it a crack if you’re curious, just keep an eye on how you feel and tweak the split if needed.

- derek572: I’ve been doing a GlyNAC split too, about 8 g glycine and 8 g NAC in the AM and PM, so my numbers are close. Anecdotally I saw a similar steadier energy during workouts and a bit less night‑time wakefulness after a month. My skin didn’t change much, but I did notice fewer breakouts, maybe just the diet shift. The sulfur breath is normal at first; it usually clears after a week. I’d keep an eye on the stool, as a bit of loose gas can pop up if you push the dose up. If you’re curious, try it and
- megan_h: yeah the breakout drop is weirdly cool 😮 i didn’t get that at all, just the glow and sleep stuff… you reckon it’s the nac clearing toxins or just luck with my skin? i’ve been holding at 10g split because i was scared of the looser stools but maybe i could nudge up to 11g? your 8g split sounds like a good baseline tho 🙌
