Trying Pentosan Polysulfate for My Knee OA – Any Thoughts on Oral vs. SC?

I’ve been dealing with mild knee osteoarthritis for about five years, mostly from years of yoga and climbing on the East Coast, and lately the pain’s gotten a bit worse. I came across Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium (the same thing that’s FDA‑approved for interstitial cystitis) because the research says it can help cartilage repair and reduce joint inflammation. I started with 100 mg three times a day orally, just as the common recommendation goes. After two months I noticed the stiffness in the morning eased a little, and the overall soreness after a session of moderate yoga was less intense. I did feel a mild headache in the first week, and my stomach grumbled a bit, but it doesn’t seem to be a long‑term issue.
I’ve read that some people try subcutaneous injections instead of oral, but I’m hesitant because the I think it might be more invasive for a regular user. Anyone else in here taking it, and what’s your experience with dosing? Did you try the SC route or stick with the oral? I’d love to hear how you timed it around your workouts or recovery days. ❓
