Nasal irritation and headaches after starting Adamax intranasal doses

Posted by brandon245 in Safety & Side Effects - 1 points, 2 comments.

5 mg per nostril twice daily, hoping for a modest focus boost during my morning runs and work. Not gonna lie, I did notice a slight sharpness in my mental clarity for the first couple of days, but after a week the nasal passages started feeling gritty, like a mild sore inside. I began getting occasional dull headaches in the afternoon, especially on the days I took the second dose.

Rinsing with saline before each application seemed to help a bit, but the irritation persisted. I haven’t changed any other supplements, and my bloodwork last month was clean except for a tiny dip in HDL, which could be unrelated. Has anyone else had similar nasal or headache issues with Adamax?

Any tricks to reduce the irritation without cutting the dose, or should I just stop? Appreciate any insight.

  • trevor_recovery: I tried the same 5 mg per nostril schedule a few months back. After about four days the spray started to feel like sand in my nose and I got a throbbing headache around lunch, especially after the second dose. I found that spacing the doses a bit, first one at 7 am, second at 2 pm instead of close together, cut the headache intensity for me. Also, I switched to a milder preservative‑free formulation and used a humidifier at night; the grit eased a bit. Did you try any preservative‑free version,
  • brandon245: I didn’t try the preservative‑free stuff yet, but the idea of moving the second spray earlier makes sense. I was taking the second dose around 3‑4 pm, which lines up with the headache timing you mentioned. I’ll push it to about 1 pm and see if the afternoon throbbing eases. If that still hurts, I’ll hunt down a preservative‑free bottle and give it a try. Thanks for the timing tip, definitely worth testing.
