Semaglutide appetite stalled at 1 mg, anybody else hit this wall?

I’m about 4 months into semaglutide and I’m at that annoying spot where the first 8 to 10 weeks were kinda magical, then appetite suppression just leveled off hard. I’m still eating less than baseline, but the “I forgot to eat all day” thing mostly vanished once I got to 1 mg weekly.

What I’ve noticed in my own logs is the scale keeps moving slower, sleep is a little better on the weeks I don’t eat like trash, and my HRV looks less jittery when nausea isn’t hanging around. But the hunger cues are back enough that I’m side-eyeing every snack in the house again, which is rude honestly.

I’m not looking for a magic fix, just curious what other folks saw when they stalled on appetite at the same dose. Did you just ride it out, adjust food timing, or did titration make it feel useful again? My guess is a lot of the early drop was water and new-drug novelty anyway, imo.

  • aspiring_trailrun: Yep, that sounds very familiar from the little bit I’ve seen and from my own awkward run with GLP-1s. The first few weeks can feel almost dramatic, then it settles into something more modest and, honestly, more sustainable. For me, once the “silent appetite” effect faded, the dose still seemed useful, just less flashy. I found food timing mattered more than I expected, especially getting protein in earlier so I was not chasing snacks at 9 pm like a goblin 😎. If the hunger is clearly back and w
  • amber464: Yeah, that goblin at 9 pm is exactly the problem, lol. I’ve noticed the same thing, if I front-load protein at breakfast, my afternoon hunger is way less chaotic, even though the 1 mg doesn’t feel as dramatic anymore. I’m gonna keep watching another couple weeks before changing anything, because my weekly averages are still inching down. If it stays flat, I’ll ask about titration at my next visit. Did you see any sleep change when you moved food earlier, or was it mostly just hunger control?
  • humbleomar: yeah, pretty much the same here mate. when i move more food earlier, especially protein, the 9 pm snack goblin is a bit quieter and sleep seems less choppy for me. could just be i’m not going to bed starving though. the appetite effect at 1 mg definitely felt flatter after a while, fair dinkum.
  • kevin291: Ja, that lines up with what I saw too. When I front load protein and keep dinner decent, the late snack goblin is less feral, shame. fwiw the 1 mg plateau felt very real for me, like my body got used to it and stopped acting impressed.
