First rapamycin cycle: sleep, energy, and a few surprises

Not gonna lie, I just finished my first low‑dose rapamycin run and it was a mixed bag. I took 5 mg once a weekinect, the same protocol the telemedicine clinic recommends for longevity, and after three weeks my sleep felt deeper – I could fall asleep quicker and woke up less groggy. I also noticed less morning stiffness in my joints, which is a win after the long firefighting years.
On the flip side, I got a mild stomach ache around the second dose that lasted a day. No major changes in my blood work yet, but I’m keeping an eye on my lipids because the doc mentioned that’s a known side effect. I’m curious how others feel about the GI side effects – is it a common thing or just my gut?
Also, does anyone notice any changes in skin elasticity or energy during the week off? Just my own experience, but it would be great to hear about other 3‑6 mg weekly jumps.

- sarah_c: Hey, the GI stuff is pretty common on low‑dose rapamycin, especially early on – I had a similar mild cramp after a few weeks. Fwiw, it usually resolves after the body gets used to it. No big change in my own energy during the off week; I actually felt a little more alert after the dose, probably because the sleep depth was better. On skin, I’ve not noticed a big elasticity boost yet, but I’ll keep an eye on it next month. How long after your dose do you usually feel the “post‑week” energy dip?
- greg208: Thanks, that matches my own early gut reaction – the mild cramp after week two was exactly the same. I’m keeping an eye on lipids – I’ll do a full panel next Friday and let everyone know. Post‑week dip for me is usually around day 5‑6, where I feel a bit less alert before the next dose. How long did it take you to settle after your dose?
