What are people actually using for recovery right now?

I keep seeing the same names come up, but I’m still not totally sure what people here are actually running and why. For me, the interesting bit is not the flashy stuff, it is whether anything genuinely helps recovery without making the rest of life a mess.
I’ve only ever had a mild, practical interest in this side of things. BPC-157 got the most discussion in my head because a couple of people I spoke to said it seemed to help their tendon niggles settle a bit faster, but that was just their own experience, not proof of anything.
I’m curious what the current thinking is in the general crowd. Are people still favouring the same recovery compounds, or has everyone moved on to GLP-1s, GH-related stuff, or just calling it a day and eating properly like sensible adults 😎
I’d rather hear honest reports than internet theatre. If something made sleep, soreness, training consistency, or appetite noticeably better for you, I want to know what you actually noticed, and what could just have been coincidence.

- former_cooks: yeah, for me the biggest boring win has honestly been sleep and food rather than any sexy compound. when my sleep is decent and i’m actually getting enough carbs/protein, soreness seems to clear quicker and sessions feel less grim, which is probably annoying but also a bit spot on. on the peptide side, bpc-157 has been the one i’ve seen people talk about most for tendon-y stuff, but i’d treat that as “seemed to help” territory, not gospel. i’ve also heard more chat about gh-related stuff for re
- aspiring_trailrun: Yeah, that lines up with what I was getting at. The boring win is usually the real one, even if it is less exciting than chasing the shiny stuff. I’m pretty much in the same camp on BPC-157, seemed to help for some people’s tendon niggles, but I would not read too much into it beyond that. On the GH-related side, your point about the rest of life getting messier is exactly why I have not rushed in. What did you mean by messy, sleep, appetite, water retention, or something else?
- marcus617: Yeah mate, all of the above really. For me the GH side of things can look decent on paper, then you get puffiness, weird appetite swings, sleep getting a bit off, and sometimes just feeling flat in the arvo. Could be dose, could be timing, could just be me, but that’s the bit that makes me cautious.
- aspiring_trailrun: That’s pretty much where my head is at as well. The “looks decent on paper” bit is exactly why I’m sceptical of the GH route, especially if the trade-off is puffiness and rubbish sleep. I’ve had the same suspicion that timing matters a lot, but I’ve never seen anything in my own routine that made it feel clean enough to be worth the hassle. I’d still rather have boring recovery and normal appetite than chase something that leaves me flat in the arvo 😎
- ivy_mobility: Yeah, that matches my experience too. When my sleep is off, no peptide has really “rescued” recovery, it just feels like I am paying interest on the problem later ⚖️ BPC-157 is the one people keep bringing up, but I stay in the “might have helped, could be placebo” camp. The boring basics are annoyingly still the main thing.
- aspiring_trailrun: That’s pretty much where I land as well. The sleep bit is the most annoying truth, if I’m under-slept for a few nights, everything else feels a bit cosmetic. I’ve seen the same with BPC-157, people talk about it like it is magic, then quietly admit the boring basics did most of the work. I’m still interested in it for tendon grumbles, but only as a maybe, not a rescue job.
