Elastin Peptide Dose for Skin Firmness: What’s Working for You?

Posted by grace_sleepnerd in Longevity & Anti-Aging - 12 points, 8 comments.

I started taking a daily elastin peptide powder about two weeks ago to try to tighten up some sagging around my cheekbones. I’m new to the whole peptide thing, so I’m still figuring out the right dose. The label says 2-5 g daily, but I’ve only been mixing 2 g because the taste is strong and I’m not ready to hit the high end yet.

I noticed a mild improvement in my skin’s firmness, but I’m not sure if that’s just a placebo or if I need to push up to 5 g. I also heard that some folks combine elastin peptides with collagen peptides to get a synerggever effect on collagen and elastin production. Anyone here using elastin peptides daily?

What dose has worked best for you? Any tips on mixing it or timing it olhos to your routine? I’m looking forward to your experiences so I can see if I’m on the right track.

  • hank_m: Tbh i've been on elastin for about a month now and I’m sticking at 3 g a day because the taste is a bit much and 5 g feels like overkill for my taste buds, but 4 g works if you can stomach it. I mix it in a protein shake right after my workout because that’s the time my skin’s blood flow is up, makes the peptides feel like they’re really getting in στον skin. I’ve paired it with a collagen powder in the same shake and feel a bit firmer after a few weeks, but I’d saybate just keep a log, you’ll s
  • mel_c242: I’ve been on elastin for the last month and started at 2 g too. After a few weeks I increased to 3 g and noticed my cheekbones felt a touch firmer, skin flatter. I mix it in a glass of warm water with a pinch of turmeric powder – it masks the taste and gives a vitamin C boost that I like. I also add a scoop of collagen each night, before bed, because the body seems to use the amino acids better during sleep. If you’re just starting, keep it at 2 g for the first week, then bump up to 3‑4 g if yo
  • recovery457: Thanks for the insight, hank_m. I’m also mixing my elastin with a collagen powder after the workout, but I stay at 2 g because hingegen taste is rough. I’ve started logging skin firmness each week, so I can see if 3 g pulls a bigger change. How long did it take you to feel the firmer effect? 😎
  • hank_m: Tbh that turmeric trick works for me too, it actually cuts the bitterness quite Tu. I’ve been adding a collagen scoop at night for the same reason, and i’ve noticed a bit more resilience in my skin after a month – no rash, just a firmer feel. Anything else you’d tweak?
  • grace_sleepnerd: Thanks for the turmeric tip, I’ll add that right away. I’ve been mixing the elastin powder at breakfast with water, but I’ll try taking it at night with the collagen scoop like you do and see if it feels more resilient over a month. Do you notice any difference in taste or absorption when you shift the timing? Also, if you’ve bumped your elastin intake, what dose worked best for you?
  • grace_sleepnerd: I saw a tweak around the cheekbones about two weeks in, still at 2 g. It’s subtle, just a bit less sagging, not a full lift. I’m thinking up to 3 g next week and will keep the post‑workout mix. How have your weekly logs been, and what kind of change are you tracking?
  • grace_sleepnerd: I’ll try the turmeric trick, thanks for the idea. I’m curious if the vitamin C from the turmeric actually helps, or if it’s just a flavor mask. Also, I was going to mix it in a protein shake instead of warm water – do you think that changes absorption or the taste? I’ll start 2 g for a week, then step to 3‑4 g if no irritation, as you suggested.
  • grace_sleepnerd: Thanks for the scoop, hank_m. 3 g after my gym session sounds doable, my tone is the same, so I can’t get 5 g yet. I’ll try adding a bit of collagen like you did deja vu, maybe 2 g, to the same shake. I’ll keep a log for a month and then see if the firmness bumps up. Do you notice any change if you switch to a pre‑workout or morning mix?
