Copper peptide irritation is real, especially if I overdo it

I’ve been messing around with copper peptides topically, and the main thing I noticed was irritation when I got too enthusiastic with it. For me, it did seem to make my skin feel a little calmer and more “plump” over time, but when I used it too often or layered it on with other actives, my face got a bit stingy and looked slightly off, almost like a faint green-blue cast in spots. Could just be me being heavy handed, but it was enough to make me back off.
I’m curious how other people keep this stuff boring and safe. I’ve seen the usual 1 to 3 percent topical range mentioned, once or twice a day, but that still feels a little broad in real life. Do people here cycle it, or just use less and watch for irritation? I’m also wondering if anyone has seen contact sensitivity, because that seems like the sort of thing that gets missed until it’s already annoying...
