semax vs selank for actual work focus?

i’ve been reading up on semax and selank lately and i’m trying to figure out which one is actually worth messing with first for day to day brain stuff. my main issue isn’t some big dramatic crash, it’s more that i get a bit scatterbrained when i’ve got coaching admin, programming, and a million little messages coming in at once 🙃

from what i’ve seen, semax looks more like the “get your head down and work” one, while selank sounds more like it might take the edge off without making me feel flat. that’s the bit i’m curious about, because i do not want to feel sedated or weirdly foggy just for the sake of being calm.

i’d love to hear from anyone who has actually run either one on its own, or even stacked them. did semax feel clean or a bit too stimmy? did selank do anything noticeable for anxiety or was it basically just subtle? i’m not after miracle stories, just real world stuff from people who’ve tried to use them for focus, mood, or memory.

  • dita_h: for me, semax felt more like a slightly sharper work mode, but not in a dramatic stimulant way. it seemed cleaner for getting through messy admin, though it could just be placebo and it was not magic for actual deep concentration. selank felt more subtle, basically more like taking the edge off without making me sleepy. that said, if your main problem is task switching and too many open loops, i would be cautious about expecting either one to fix the system issue. for me, sleep and fewer interr
  • former_cooks: yeah that’s pretty much the vibe i was getting from the reading too, so cheers, that helps a lot. the “cleaner for messy admin” bit is exactly what i’m after, cos my worst days are when i’ve got class plans, client messages and payroll stuff all pinging at once. the sleep point is spot on as well, i know when i’m a bit short on it everything feels more chaotic anyway. i’m probably going to sort that first and then trial one at a time, not stack them straight away. out of curiosity, did you noti
  • jade_s: For me it was more a mild lift, not a proper stimmy feeling, but I only used it on days I already slept okay, so that may matter. I actually would still be careful with late dosing, because if your sleep is already shaky it can feel a bit too “on” in the head.
  • former_cooks: yeah that’s kinda what i was hoping to hear, cheers. the “mild lift” bit sounds more like what i’d want for work stuff, not proper wired nonsense. i’ve got decent sleep most nights, usually 7ish hours, so i’m thinking a morning trial would make more sense anyway. late dosing sounding too “on” in the head is exactly the sort of thing i wanted to avoid, mate. did you notice it helping with actual task switching, or was it more just a general buzz?
