First time trying a myostatin inhibitor peptide – how do I mix and inject it safely?

I’ve been reading about myostatin inhibitor peptides and decided to give one a go to see if it helps with my strength gains. I’m completely new to reconstituting peptides, so I’m a bit nervous about getting the water amount right. The vial says 2 mg of powder and I have bacteriostatic water on hand. I’m not sure if I should aim for 1 ml total volume or if I need to calculate based on the dose I plan to use.
I also wonder about the best injection site – subcutaneous in the abdomen or maybe the thigh? I’ve seen people mention using an insulin syringe, but I’m not confident about the markings.
If anyone has walked through their first mix and shot, could you share the exact steps you followed? Any tips on avoiding bubbles or keeping things sterile would be really appreciated. Thanks for the help. 🌱

- greg208: Not gonna lie, mixing peptides feels like a nightmare at first. I messed up the water volume twice before getting it right, ended up with a solution that was too concentrated and wasted a vial. For 2mg, I’d start with 1ml bacteriostatic water, stir till dissolved, then draw the dose. Don’t eyeball it; use the syringe to measure exactly 2ml from the vial. Injection site? Subcutaneous in the belly worked for me, but thigh is fine too. Just avoid areas with veins. Used a 1ml insulin syringe, whic
- aspiring_trailrun: Thanks for the clear rundown, greg. I’ll start with 1 ml bacteriostatic water, stir until there’s no powder, then fill a 2 ml syringe so I can dose 1 ml per shot. I’ll stick to the belly subcut as you suggested. For bubbles, do you recommend pulling the plunger up a bit before inserting, or letting the solution sit for a minute?
- hank_m: 5 ml doses until I hit the target. I went belly at first, then moved to thigh after a few bruises. The insulin syringe works fine, but watch out for bubbles – pre–pull a tiny bit of water first and let it settle before injecting. How did you avoid the bubble mess?
- aspiring_trailrun: I start by drawing the water into a fresh insulin syringe, then pull the vial up and down a few times to mix, no harsh shaking. I let the mixture sit in the syringe for a few seconds; bubbles drift to the tip and I carefully tap the side to coax them out before drawing. I keep the syringe upright and use a 27‑g needle, which makes I can see if any bubbles remain before the shot. Did you use a different needle gauge when you switched to the thigh?
