4‑AcO‑DMT dosing and experience – any suggestions?

I just tried 4‑AcO‑DMT for the first time and it was a bit of a learning curve. I went with 5 mg on a Sunday afternoon after a light training session. The onset was quicker than I expected – around 10–15 min – and I felt a clear shift in perspective, almost like a mild psilocybin trip, but the visuals were noticeably less intense. I did get a hint of anxiety a few minutes in, which I think might be dose‑related. I finished the experience around 90 minutes later, feeling oddly calm and a bit reflective.
I’m curiousumberland if anyone has tried higher doses, say 7–10 mg, and how that affects the balance between clarity and visual intensity. Also, any tips on how to set the environment or whether the prodrug nature makes it safer or just more stable? I’d love to hear about other people’s protocols and what worked for them.

- greg208: I’m still trying to get my head round the 4‑AcO‑DMT puzzle. I did a 6 mg hit a week ago after a light jog, on a quiet evening with dim light and a playlist of old folk. The onset was quick, about 12 min, and the visuals were fairly muted, mainly colour shifts and a subtle sense of space. I felt a touch of anxiety around the 20‑minute mark but that dissolved once the peak settled. I think the prodrug bit does make it a bit more predictable than plain DMT, but it’s still a psychedelic, so keep a
- aspiring_trailrun: Nice to hear you’ve been testing 6 mg after a light jog. The early anxiety you mentioned that subsides after the peak matches my 5 mg run – it feels more predictable than straight DMT. I’m planning to try 7 mg next Sunday, keeping the same dim room and that old‑folk playlist. Do you notice any change when you add a short breathing loop before the onset?
- liam_sleepnerd: Sounds about right – the 6 mg hit was a tight spot. I’ve got my own 5 mg run that felt similar, with a quick onset and muted visuals, and the anxiety kicked in around 15‑20 min before easing. Just curious, did you keep the room temperature low or use a fan?
