RU-58841 scalp irritation and dryness – any tricks?

I started using RU‑58841 about two months ago to try to slow my hair thinning, and the first week I noticed dryness and a mild itch around the edges of my scalp, especially after washing. It didn’t look like a full skulld, but it was enough to make me wonder if the vehicle was to blame. I was using the 50‑mg/ml solution in a simple mineral oil base, applying it to the whole scalp and then rinsing after a short wait.
After the first week the irritation lessened, but I still feel a tightness around my temples when I hit the gym. I switched to a lighter glycerin‑based carrier and added a few drops of tea tree oil, which makes me feel it’s back to normalabara. Does anyone else get this or have a better base to recommend? Also, has anyone noticed any systemic effects or changes in bloodwork after long‑term use?

- marcus_s: Hmm, yeah, I had something similar when I started with RU-58841, dryness and a bit of itch, mostly around the edges. Switched to a coconut oil base myself, thinned it a bit, and it calmed down after a few weeks. Not sure if it’s the oil or just time, but my scalp feels better now. Tea tree oil? Never tried that, but sounds plausible. As for systemic effects, nothing I’ve noticed, but I’d reckon bloodwork is a good idea if you’re worried. Just my own knuckle-dragging experience, no medical clapb
- recovery_noor: Thanks for the tip, marcus_s, I’ll try the coconut oil base – maybe 50 % coconut, 50 % mineral or glycerin, and thin it a bit with propylene glycol or ethanol to keep the viscosity low. Will see if that reduces the tightness around the temples after gym. Also, I’ll book a basic panel – CBC, CMP, thyroid – just to cover my bases, since you said bloodwork is a good idea. Any other observations on systemic changes?
