New to MK-677, what does a basic starting protocol even look like?

I’m pretty green on this stuff and ngl I keep seeing MK-677 mentioned as the easy first step because it’s oral and once daily. That part makes sense to me, but I’m trying to separate “easy to take” from “good idea to run”.
From what I’ve read on here, the usual range seems to be 10 to 25 mg once daily, often in the evening. I get the general idea that it can affect sleep, recovery, and appetite, but I’m a bit lost on how people actually judge if it’s doing anything useful versus just making them hungrier and holding water.
If someone wanted to read a protocol properly, what are the main things to look at first, dose, timing, side effects, blood sugar, all that? I’m also not fully clear on how long people usually give it before deciding it’s worth continuing.
Just trying to learn the basics before I jump into anything half-baked.
