anyone here actually using low dose methylene blue for energy?

i have been reading a bit on methylene blue, mostly because the mitochondrial angle is actually interesting to me. the idea of using it as an alternative electron carrier sounds neat on paper, but in real life i am always suspicious when something is sold as a broad energy fix?
i have only tried a very small amount once, and for me it seemed a little sharp rather than dramatic. not a clean caffeine feeling, more like my head was slightly clearer for a few hours, but honestly it could just be placebo. the blue urine part was very real though, which is a bit ridiculous for such a serious looking compound.
for what it is worth, the interaction profile makes me cautious. especially anything serotonergic, i would want to be careful and actually check the details before touching it again. if anyone here has used it in a boring, sensible way, did you notice anything beyond the colour change?

- kyle_reads: i have had a similar impression. for me, low dose methylene blue felt more like a subtle shift in alertness than a true energy boost. a bit clearer head, maybe slightly better focus in the morning, but nothing dramatic. could just be placebo, honestly. what made me cautious was also the interaction side, especially with antidepressants or other serotonergic meds. imo that part is not something to hand-wave away. the blue urine is indeed very real, almost comical. did you notice any change in s
- frugal_protocol: no big change in sleep, actually. i only did that one tiny try, and it was early in the day, so i did not see any obvious effect on falling asleep or my resting heart rate. your wearable comment is useful. for me it felt more like a small mental shift for a few hours, not something that would show up cleanly on a tracker? if i try it again, i would probably keep it to a morning dose and watch sleep the same way.
- grinder_derek: Yes, that matches my impression actually. For me it also felt more like a subtle mental lift than a clear stimulant, so a wearable may miss it unless sleep gets affected. Morning only seems sensible, because I would not want to gamble with the night for such a small effect.
- frugal_protocol: yes, that is pretty much what i saw too. the one time i tried it was in the morning, and i did not feel any sleep disruption, but i was also being very cautious with the amount, so maybe that matters? your comment about a wearable missing it is actually fair. subjectively i had a bit more clarity, but nothing dramatic enough that i would trust it as an energy tool. for what it is worth, the blue urine was the most certain effect by far. have you seen any difference if it is taken on an empty s
