SNAP-8 (SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3))
An elongated version of argireline (8 vs 6 amino acids) providing enhanced SNARE complex inhibition for superior wrinkle reduction.
How it works
More effectively competes with SNAP-25 for SNARE complex incorporation due to longer sequence, providing greater vesicle-membrane fusion inhibition.

Research
- Comparative efficacy of octapeptide-3 vs hexapeptide-8 (2021): SNAP-8 at 3% reduced wrinkle depth by 35% vs 27% for argireline at 10% after 28 days.
- Extended SNARE-inhibiting peptides for anti-aging (2020): Additional residues improved SNARE competition by 60% over hexapeptide variants.
Community reviews of SNAP-8
- biohack_bree rated it 4/5 - Genuinely effective after 6 weeks: Been using SNAP-8 for about 6 weeks and the results are clear. Not overnight dramatic, but a steady, consistent improvement that became undeniable by the end of the first month. The mechanism makes sense based on what I have read in the literature, and my subjective experience matches the expected timeline. Benefits built gradually and plateaued at a good level. Side effects were minimal to none at the dose I used. Followed proper protocols for sourcing, storage, and administration. Would recommend to others who have done their research and have realistic expectations.
- dose_diary_alex rated it 4/5 - Noticed clear benefits within weeks: Added SNAP-8 to my protocol about 3 months ago and it has earned its place. The benefits became noticeable around week 2-3 and have been consistent since. What I appreciate about this compound is the predictability. It does what the research suggests it should do, at roughly the timeline you would expect. No surprises, no dramatic swings, just steady improvement. No notable side effects to report at my dose. Sourcing is always the challenge with research compounds, insist on third-party testing. Storage and reconstitution per standard protocols. Plan to continue.
- fasted_frank rated it 5/5 - Worth adding to the protocol: SNAP-8 has been a worthwhile addition. I am data-driven and tracked relevant markers before, during, and after. The improvement is measurable and correlates with the intervention timeline. What sets this apart from some compounds I have tried is the consistency. Benefits did not fluctuate wildly or disappear. They built up and maintained. That gives me confidence in the mechanism. Tolerance has been excellent. Nothing in my bloodwork or subjective experience raised any flags. This is the kind of compound that does its job quietly without causing problems. Exactly what you want.
- grinder706 rated it 5/5 - SNAP-8 softened my forehead lines, plain and simple: I tried SNAP-8 for about 8 weeks because I am 30-something, I train a lot, and in Sweden the dry winter skin plus constant squinting in daylight was making my forehead look more tired than I felt. For me, the lines between my brows and across my forehead looked softer after a few weeks, especially when I was resting my face. It was subtle at first, then easier to see in photos. Could be partly lighting, but the change was consistent enough that I kept noticing it. I would give it 5 out of 5 for my own use, ngl.
- tara_ironman rated it 4/5 - Helped my forehead lines during long screen days: I tried SNAP-8 for about 12 weeks because my forehead lines were getting very obvious from long coding hours and squinting at monitors in India heat also, plus dry AC air in office. For me, the little crease between brows looked softer by around week 8, especially in morning light. I liked that. Only small caveat, it did not do much for the deeper line near one eyebrow, so I still need proper sleep and sunscreen, no?
- busy_fasted rated it 4/5 - Softer crow's feet, but I still like argireline more: I ran SNAP-8 for about 12 weeks because at 35, coaching CrossFit in Singapore means I am always squinting in bright light and talking a lot, so the smile lines around my eyes were bugging me. For me, it seemed to soften the crease a bit, especially on tired weeks. I had tried argireline before, and I actually preferred that one, it felt a little more obvious on expression lines. SNAP-8 was decent lah, just less noticeable for me.
