Klotho Research Guide

Full name: Klotho Protein

A longevity-associated protein named after the Greek Fate who spins the thread of life. Higher Klotho levels are linked to slower aging, better cognition, and kidney and cardiovascular health. Studied for neuroprotection and age-related decline.

How Klotho Works

Exists in membrane-bound and soluble forms. Soluble Klotho acts as a circulating hormone that modulates FGF23 signaling, regulates phosphate/vitamin D balance, suppresses certain growth and oxidative-stress pathways, and supports synaptic and cognitive function.
