Canagliflozin Research Guide

Full name: Canagliflozin (SGLT2 Inhibitor)

An FDA-approved SGLT2 inhibitor for type 2 diabetes that gained longevity attention after the ITP showed it extended male mouse lifespan. Biohackers use it for glucose control, cardiovascular/kidney protection, and its caloric-loss "metabolic offloading" effect.

How Canagliflozin Works

Blocks the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 in the kidney, causing excess glucose to be excreted in urine. This lowers blood glucose independent of insulin, reduces blood pressure and weight, and produces cardio-renal protective effects.
